Job Purpose

 

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role will work closely with the global teams and 3rd party service providers.

 

The mission here is to lead and manage Designer Group’s tax planning and compliance with a particular focus on the design and implementation of the group’s international tax strategy.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

Tax Planning & Compliance

 

  • Manage and co-ordinate the group’s compliance with domestic and international tax obligations, tax matters and transfer pricing.

  • Lead the design and implementation of the group’s international tax strategy to include matters such as profit repatriation, cross-border financing, etc.

  • Support the design, implementation, documentation and maintenance of the group’s transfer pricing policies.

  • Lead engagements with tax authorities such as tax audits, tax enquiries, etc.

  • Further develop and successfully implement a standard operating procedure for overseas works in the international business unit.

  • Review, analyse and challenge the output from advisors to ensure the most efficient strategies are being pursued to achieve entity rationalization across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Regularly update the CFO and Executive team on the status of the group’s international tax planning and tax compliance strategy.

  • Support the HR team to ensure that all employment tax law requirements are adhered to in all jurisdictions.

  • Support the development of an internal tax team as business needs require.

 

Financial

 

  • Work closely with the group finance team to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and other tax items.

  • Support the project estimation process to ensure overseas tax costs are accurately captured.

  • Manage the tax return processes for the group with external tax teams ensuring tax calculations and payments are compliant in all regions.

  • Manage the budget for external tax and compliance advisors at agreed levels.

  • Filing of returns in multiple jurisdictions.

 

Reporting

 

  • Take responsibility for current and deferred tax accounting as part of the group’s internal and external reporting processes.

  • Provide financial analysis on the implications of the group’s transfer pricing, global mobility processes and other key tax issues.

  • Develop and successfully implement a standard operating checklist for each international business unit that ensures we are compliant with all statutory obligations and internal finance ways of working.

 

The Successful candidate will have

 

  • Qualified Tax Advisor / Accountant.

  • Top 10 Practice background and exposure to international tax are significant advantages.
