Accounts Assistant - Dublin

What You’ll Do 

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accounts Assistant will support the finance team by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and maintaining compliance with company policies and statutory requirements. Typical duties will include:

  • Daily and weekly bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies investigated promptly.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns, assisting with compliance and audit requirements.
  • Posting journals for depreciation, payroll, expenses, and other routine adjustments.
  • Supplier account reconciliations, including resolving queries and following up on outstanding items.
  • Intercompany reconciliations and assisting with month-end close procedures.
  • FX revaluations and credit card costing, ensuring accurate allocation of costs.
  • Processing supplier invoices, matching to purchase orders and delivery dockets.
  • Assisting with weekly supplier payment runs and maintaining supplier records.
  • Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Assisting with expense claim processing and ensuring adherence to company policy.
  • Liaising with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve queries.
  • Supporting the finance team with ad hoc tasks and projects as required.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting software is an advantage.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Flexible and positive attitude, with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Previous experience in a similar accounts or finance role is desirable.
