Role Overview
As Project Manager (Electric), you’ll lead the delivery of electrical engineering projects from pre-construction through to handover. You’ll manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships, ensuring that all works meet Designer Group’s standards for safety, quality, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full lifecycle of electrical projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery
- Lead project planning, procurement, and resource allocation
- Manage subcontractors and site teams, ensuring compliance with H&S and QA standards
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships
- Monitor project progress, produce reports, and resolve issues proactively
- Ensure all electrical installations meet regulatory and contractual requirements
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation across project delivery
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Proven experience managing electrical projects in construction or building services
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, regulations, and installation practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, BIM, AutoCAD)
- Valid site safety certifications (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS)
Desirable Attributes
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it
- Experience with sustainable technologies and energy-efficient systems
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and foster team development
